Dr Leanne McRae is the Senior Researcher and Creative Industrial Matrix convenor for the Popular Culture Collective. Leanne lectures, co-ordinates, and designs courses in Media Studies, Cultural Studies, Screen Studies and Creative Industries. She possesses a Master of Arts (Media Studies) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Cultural Studies).
Leanne's publication list reflects a growing and diverse range of research interests from men's studies, through to postwork, mobility studies, popular cultural studies and pedagogy. The stand-out publications include "The Redhead Review: Accelerated Modernity and Popular Cultural Studies" published by History of Intellectual Culture, "Rethinking Tourism: Edward Said and a Politics of Meeting and Movement" published by Tourist Studies, and a recent article accepted for publication with the Journal of Employability and the Humanities entitled "Postwork and Pedagogy: The Casualisation of Knowledge, Employment and Expertise." Currently, she is preparing an article on the relationship between universities, employment and popular cultural studies.
